Ben Davis earned a Master of Music degree in bassoon performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a Bachelor of Music from Illinois Wesleyan University and attended Northwestern University. Ben has performed professionally with many groups, including the Santa Rosa, Monterey and Santa Cruz Symphonies, the Kazakhstan State Chamber Orchestra, and West Bay and Festival Operas. His woodwind quintet, The Quake City Camerata, took third prize in the Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition. Mr. Davis was a conductor and soloist with the San Francisco Concerto Orchestra and has performed all over the world, including concerts in France, Germany, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland and has performed with Itzhak Perlman, Andre Watts, Lang Lang, and Rachel Barton Pine. Since arriving in Arizona, Ben is proud to serve as principal bassoon in both the North Valley Symphony and Arizona Winds Concert Band, where he also serves on the board of directors. His primary teachers include Stephen Paulson and Robert Barris, bassoon, Timothy Day and Kaye Clements, flute, Carolee Smith, clarinet, John DeLancie, chamber music and Michael Morgan, conducting.
